EPA
I want to
bring to the attention of our industry that there is presently a bill in the
Ohio Senate, House Bill 237, which apparently removes the EPA from
responsibility on septic tanks. The word
is that this is okay with the EPA, it is okay with a lot of other folks, and we
think it is great.
If you would like to weigh in with your Senator or
Representative on this bill, don’t be a slacker. A vote may be tomorrow, and it may be later,
but you never know. A lame duck
legislature could pass this bill, and we could use your help to pass it.
Now, there
is a point of view that the present law gives authority now to the county
health departments on septic tanks, but lately the state EPA has made serious
moves to control certain types of septic tank developments. So, this law would
supposedly clear this question up.
However,
the details of this law are somewhat confusing. If someone can explain to me
how it will work, and I hope it will, call me at 614-886-7730.
