COUNTRYTYME CHANGES ITS SPOTS
For over 23
years the Grove City office has been successful in developing rural property
into five acre lots for residences of middle class central Ohioans.
But, now the
market has changed. For many reasons,
some unknown middle class central Ohioans have made a U turn in their plans, if
not dreams. Many of our regular class of
customers prefer to live closer rather than further from their employment, schools,
shopping, and other amenities. This is
particularly true of baby boomers. The
price of gasoline is one factor. Another is that people find time and family
more important since 9/11, and long commutes are not so
popular as they were.
And, on the
supply side, the price of land has continued to increase as the wealthier folks
in our area continue to invest in farms, timberland, and large estates. The price of corn, beans and wheat is running
up the price of tillable productive farm land.
So, at least in

office plans to offer small farm properties of at least 11 acres for families
that wish to take advantage of opportunities in farm production on a small
scale.
